How does KONTERFEY work?
FROM PHOTOS TO JEWELLERY – OUR CREATIVE PROCESS
“It takes two to tango”. Only together can we create a beautiful and meaningful silhouette pendant - with your help and the right template.
Once an order is placed, it typically takes 3 to 4 weeks to complete the design and creation of the piece. First, we need a photo of the person you want engraved in gold forever. The photo must be taken in a sharp side profile - the photo quality of your mobile phone camera is completely sufficient for this.
After you have uploaded the photos, Harriet will create a hand-cut paper silhouette design within days and we'll email you a photo of the result for your review. (Please also check your spam folder more frequently than usual during this time)
As soon as you have approved the design, your piece of jewellery will be made by our goldsmith. You can read here exactly how the creation works behind the scenes. After completion, we will contact you again to arrange a delivery date. Our courier will personally hand over the special piece of jewellery to you.
For our artist to be able to create an accurate KONTERFEY, you must consider a few essential points before you send us the photo templates:
It is helpful to have a sideways photo of the person's profile.
Please note: the photo must be taken in a sharp profile (mobile phone photo quality is sufficient).
Background: A white or at least light-coloured wall or door.
Keep the camera at eye level if possible to avoid looking from above or below.
If you have long hair, we recommend a ponytail, braid, or bun.
Keep your face relaxed, and your mouth loosely closed (an open mouth is sometimes typical of young children and may even
be a distinguishing feature. In all other cases, we tend not to recommend this).
For once please don't smile ;)
Use a second person as a distraction for smaller children to get an appropriate photo.
